It’s an eclectic list, with a few figures from some older properties, a variety of Native figures, a shipgirl, and oh yes, one girl with a penis. Let’s take a look.

After looking at Bertille a few days ago, we’ll continue our examination of Daiki Kougyou’s Walkure Romanze figures by taking a look at Ayako, the elder girl of the series. This figure was released in July of 2017, after Celia, Mio, Bertille, and Akane, making her the most recent of Daiki’s lineup to be released. She was an odd candidate to receive a figure adaptation, being that she was very much an ancillary character in the original visual novel and anime, and lead girls Noel and Lisa hadn’t yet gotten figures (Noel will be getting a figure version early next year, whereas apparently nobody loves Lisa). That said, she actually got another figure, sold on Native’s store, which came out just the other week; that one is pretty lewd, with her having her ass way up in the air. I didn’t buy it, unfortunately, so this one will have to suffice.

Daiki Kougyou’s figure of Noel Marres Ascot went up for preorder last week, fully half a decade after their Celia Cumani Aintree figure was released. Let’s take a look today at the hotheaded and aristocratic Bertille Althusser, the third figure to be released, way back in September of 2015.

All of my figure preorders scheduled to ship in August have been delayed, except for the big-ass, half-meter tall statue of Taki from Soul Calibur; a strange turn of luck, that, being that was the one preorder that I was sure would get pushed way back, as often happens with big-ass statues. I’m not sure whether I will review it, anyway; therefore, we’ll spend the next month going through the backlog and looking at some older figures. First up is Cecilia Alcott, the British girl and love interest from Infinite Stratos. We looked at her castmate Houki quite a while back, and with FREEing rolling out bunnygirl after bunnygirl, I think it’s worthwhile to talk about their products in general, in case anyone who doesn’t own one was interested in picking one up, such as their upcoming Kurisu Makise.

Native has recently been busying themselves with rolling out new figures for preorders. Undoubtedly the most anticipated is Olga Discordia, and for obvious reasons, but another dark-skinned girl has become available, and that’s Homare’s Ade-Sugata II. That name implies that there was an Ade-Sugata I, and of course there was, and that’s who we’re looking at here. Ade-Sugata isn’t an actual name; rather, it means something like “charming body” or “alluring figure” or somesuch. That this character has no name is going to make it harder to talk about this figure, but we’ll make do as best we can.

We’ll take a short break from all the lewd, explicit porno figures that we’ve been looking at and instead cover something that’s maybe a half step removed from being a porno figure. This is Yukina Himeragi, the lead girl of the poorly-reviewed anime and light novel Strike the Blood. Normally I prefer to buy figures whose characters I know something about, either with respect to their personalities or the source material that they come from, but in this case I have to admit I had scarcely heard of the character or the series. In all frankness, I really bought this figure for three reasons; her lack of clothing, her distressed expression, and her thematic resemblance to this Kuroyukihime figure, which I like a lot.

As good as Ping-Yi is, I felt that Jin-Lian would be the true prize of the series. With high expectations comes the possibility of bitter disappointment, but I felt that SkyTube could pull it off, seeing as how they have become one of the preeminent figure manufacturers in the hobby. And pull it off they did; after seeing Jin-Lian with my own eyes, I can confidently say that this is one of the best anime figures ever made.

First, a housekeeping note; I’ve enabled SSL on this website, in accordance with Google’s dictate that websites should now encrypt communications between host and client. I think this occurred without problems but if anyone notices any errors, I’d appreciate it if you’d drop me a line. Also, Wonder Festival was this past weekend and I don’t really do an impressions post, but occasionally people are curious as to what I thought about it, so I figured I’d post my feelings here in a stream-of-consciousness fashion: there sure were a lot of porno figures there. I really hope these STP figures aren’t too expensive since there’s a lot that I would like to own. A lot of these figures are emphasizing the ass of their respective characters, which is a nice change from the usual practice. Not that 2B figure from Flare, though; I guess it would have been too much to hope that REFLECT would’ve given her a little more definition back there. There’s not as much Kantai Collection stuff there as I thought there would be. Wasn’t the Kantai Collection anime supposed to get a second season? Oh no, I kinda want to buy another Ban! hermaphrodite figure, and I just sold off my first one. It’s an injustice to humanity that Cross Ange never got any figures. I was hoping someone would show off a new tentacle rape figure but I suppose not. No bestiality figures here either, which is a little disappointing; that felt like the next logical step given the sorts of figures we’ve gotten in recent times. There was at least that one figure of the girl with the torpedo inserted in her body; that was neat. I’m going to need to make more money.
Anyway, let’s look at some of the figures I’m thinking about preordering. I left a few off that I haven’t quite composed my thoughts on, like the Lechery figure in wrestling boots and the A+ figure of the blonde maid; I figure I’m behind on these posts so I’ll just save writing about them for next time.

Apparently I haven’t reviewed a Tony Taka-designed figure since Freesia, which is confounding since I think I have at least a dozen Tony figures in hand and in the review queue. Clearly there is much work to do; we’ll start by taking a look at Ping Yi, a figure from SkyTube’s ostensible premium line.
