Ganessa Roland from Freezing (Sexy Version) (NSFW)

The fourth FREEing Freezing girl is Ganessa Roland, a student at West Genetics with the nickname “The Angel of Binding.” Like series heroine Satellizer, she’s a British girl, though while Satella is timid and withdrawn, Ganessa is a haughty, arrogant, and brash fireball. In the very first episode of the anime adaptation, we see Ganessa in action as she assaults and defeats Satellizer, and for a while it seemed like she would serve as an antagonist – or at least as a foil – to the show’s lead girl. Strangely, if I recall correctly, she then fades into the background for much of the rest of the series, not really doing much until the last couple of episodes – though she does make a brief appearance in the prom episode, dressed as a dominatrix. At any rate, she’s gotten a figure of her own so let’s take a look at it.

Like Satellizer, Ingrid, and Rana Linchen, Ganessa is gigantic, being 1/4 scale. She measures about 35 centimeters in length and 19 centimeters in height. Also, like the other “sexy version” Freezing girls, she comes with a removable dress shirt, a removable top, and fabric thighhighs. A little stand is included but she doesn’t seem to need it, as she doesn’t have Rana’s wobbling problem.

The Freezing wiki lists the body measurements of the characters, and from there we can see that Ganessa and Rana are about the same height. Ganessa is actually listed as being a little heavier than Rana, but to me, this figure appears to be both smaller and younger-looking than Rana’s figure. Ganessa is actually listed as being two years younger than Rana – she is sixteen while Rana is eighteen – but in terms of appearance, Rana seems to look like an adult while Ganessa looks sort of like a middle-schooler, or at least an anime version of a middle-schooler. Part of that comes from the pose; Rana is depicted as lounging lazily while fully stretched out while Ganessa has her legs drawn to her body and is sitting up, making her figure more compact.

However, the main reason I think Ganessa looks younger is due to her hairstyle. This sort of twintails hairdo seems to be a common choice for young characters, particularly loli-type characters, and its inclusion here gives Ganessa a more youthful look than FREEing’s other Freezing figures. The drill tips at the end give her a bit of a playful and mischievous look, which is somewhat appropriate but not entirely accurate to her character.

Another reason she looks younger than Satella and Rana is because it’s not as easy to view her breasts, being that her arms and legs partially obscure them from many viewing angles. However, a quick look will reveal that her rack is enormous, certainly much larger than that found on many twintailed anime characters.

One can easily see that her bust is much wider than her torso and her breasts hang to each side, though I suppose one would say that their shape is not very realistic. It would have been nice if the color of her areolae were more prominent; they’re rather pale, not too different from her skin color, so her nipples don’t really stand out as much as they should.

Rana had sort of a nondescript expression that didn’t convey too much emotion. Ganessa, however, is more emotive; she is smiling slyly, her head slightly tilted and her eyes directed sideways, giving her a minx-like look that I find much more interesting and appealing than Rana’s rather bland expression.

I also like Ganessa’s body posture more than Rana’s. Her pose is inviting and seductive, perfectly matching her facial expression. Little touches like the way her foot curls down enhance that flirty look. More obvious highlights of her pose include the way her crotch is visible as well as the way her right leg is lifted a little higher than her left.

Of course, the fact that her clothing is mostly removable emphasizes the obvious sexuality of this figure. To start with, the dress shirt comes off in the same way as with the previous figures; the arms and sleeves both detach, and the shirt can then be pulled off of the figure’s torso. A pair of fabric armbands are provided to cover up the seams where the arms separate from her body.

Ganessa wears a purple-tinted bustier under her shirt. It too is removable.

A pair of lacy fishnet socks are also provided. They stay on fairly well and don’t look that bad, though I prefer the way that she looks without them. I think I would have liked them better had they been a different color; given Ganessa’s personality, it seems like a stronger, bolder color would suit her better.

In her most stripped-down look, Ganessa wears a pair of blue hair ribbons and matching panties. To be honest, I also wish these were a different color, like red or black, perhaps; this shade of blue doesn’t really convey eroticism and seductiveness like those two colors do.

They do look nice, though; I like the side-tie look as well.

As usual, Ganessa’s stigmata marks are visible on her back. While Rana and Satellizer both have six, poor Ganessa only has three.

I think Ganessa’s figure is superior to Rana’s, and maybe Satellizer’s as well, though I’d have to think a little harder about that one. Unlike Rana, she expresses a much stronger sense of personality and is consequently more interesting to look at. She also loses nothing in terms of sex appeal, which FREEing was obviously aiming for, given the name of the product line. Like FREEing’s other large figures, this one doesn’t really take advantage of all the advantages made possible by its size; the detailing is unremarkable and the paint is fairly flat and not particularly eye-catching. However, her sheer size commands attention, as does the attractiveness of her body sculpt. I’m quite happy with this figure; the only things I’d change would be the color of her underwear and her nipples.

I’m not sure if FREEing intends to produce any more figures in this line; I could swear that I saw an indication that they planned to make a figure of Attia Simmons, but perhaps that is just my imagination. If they do, perhaps Freezing Vibration will give them some inspiration. Curiously, Ganessa doesn’t appear on the new season’s character page, so I wonder if she will show up at all. The British student and nudist Elizabeth Mably seems to be featured prominently, so I suppose we’ll be seeing a lot more of her. (Curiously, there is a character named Charles Bonaparte. That’s three recent anime series – Freezing, Infinite Stratos, and Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls – that have featured a female character named Charles.)
