I’m not too familiar with To Heart 2, but Sasara Kusugawa is apparently a recent addition to the cast. In this figure (Griffon, 1/7 scale), she is depicted on her hands and knees, sporting a curious amalgamation of maid uniform and school swimsuit.
Also curious is the difference between the prototype and the production figure. The initial promo picture showed Sasara with a playful expression, hand near her mouth as if suppressing a giggle. The retail figure shifts her hand away, and instead of smiling with affable slyness, she is now undoubtedly frowning, facial features fixed in discomfort. Or perhaps she is staring nonplussed, as if to silently ask, “What are you looking at, you pervert?” A quick googling reveals that Sasara is rather frosty in temperament, so perhaps the change is a better match for her.
Enough words about what was shown and more words about what we’ve got. I’m not all that into the maid outfit or school swimsuit fetishes but I like how they work on Sasara; the unusual costume and the vulnerable pose contrast with her personality (as I understand it). The figure comes with a rather plain but functional black base emblazoned with her name. This is a figure that’s rather more cute than smoking hot, and I like it a lot.
Reading this one again; I’ve noticed your newer reviews are generally much longer in length. I think it’s a good change though, since the usually humorous accounts of how you acquired the figure make for a more entertaining read. Especially when it’s a funny tale about someone trying to outbid you at the last moment like with Cobra Kai’s Fate. Keep up the good work.
It took me a while to figure out the way I wanted to do these reviews. Back when I started, I bought a camera and signed up for a web hosting plan, and then I was like, “Uhh, so what do I do now?” There were a bunch of things I wasn’t certain of, like whether I should describe the character’s personality and background, whether I should talk about technical quality (which seems to be an important part of a figure review, but I don’t enjoy doing it), and even how wide the thumbnail images should be. Looking back at old stuff like this really makes me cringe; I kinda want to vaporize the archives and do them over. On the other hand, they do sorta show how this site has developed over the last year and a half, and it’s kinda cool for me to see how I’ve progressed as far as figure photography goes.
